Big 5 began in 1979, in the heart of Dubai - when a small group of suppliers and stakeholders came together to explore new possibilities for a region on the rise. That was the first edition of Big 5.

Big 5 has evolved in parallel with the region it serves – reflecting and helping to drive the transformation of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia into a magnet for global investment and innovation.Today, Big 5 operates in some of the world’s most dynamic and high-growth markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Qatar, South Africa – creating access to over 300,000 construction professionals across these strategic hubs.
