A Landmark Event Marking the Beginning of TurkmenEnergy Forum (TEF)

Conference & Exhibition | Turkmenistan, 2024

From July 31 to August 4, 2024, the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan hosted a unique cultural and educational exhibition, “The Two Holy Mosques — The Beauty of Manuscripts and Their Rare and Exceptional Treasures,” organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Turkmenistan with the support of the King Abdulaziz Foundation.

For TurkmenEnergy Forum (TEF), this event marked a significant milestone — the first project ever delivered — laying a solid foundation for the organisation’s дальнейшее развитие as an international platform that brings together not only the energy sector, but also a broader cultural and humanitarian dialogue.

The exhibition was dedicated to the spiritual and historical legacy of the two holiest sites in Islam — Masjid al-Haram and Al-Masjid an-Nabawi. It featured rare archival materials, manuscripts, artistic works, and photographs illustrating the rich history and evolution of Islamic architecture and culture. At the heart of the exhibition were visual representations of the Kaaba, one of the most revered symbols in the Islamic world.

Particular attention was drawn to the display of rare and exceptional manuscript copies, as well as outstanding examples of Arabic calligraphy, reflecting the depth, sophistication, and artistic excellence of Islamic traditions. Interactive calligraphy masterclasses were also organised, offering visitors a unique opportunity to engage directly with this centuries-old art form.

The cultural programme further introduced guests to the traditions of Saudi hospitality, including tastings of national cuisine and Arabic coffee, creating an authentic and immersive atmosphere of cultural exchange.

The exhibition stood as a powerful testament to the strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting a shared respect for spiritual heritage and historical traditions.

For TEF, participation in the organisation of this event held particular significance. It marked not only the starting point of its activities, but also a symbolic beginning rooted in the values of dialogue, cooperation, and mutual respect.

This event laid the foundation for the continued development of TEF as an international platform capable of connecting countries, industries, and cultures, while creating a space for meaningful engagement and long-term partnership.
